In this role you will bring sector stakeholders together, identify trends and opportunities, and will also be responsible for:

Developing and supporting “Business Retention, Expansion and Diversification”, including coordinating industry tours, facilitating attendance at targeted sector events, and other supporting initiatives.
Coordinating economic studies (i.e. Business Retention and Expansion Survey); activities include facilitating the collection and analysis of data, the preparation of agendas, presentation of reports and proposals, making presentations and facilitation of discussions, and following up on outstanding business.
Developing program materials and supporting the Town’s new “Community Improvement Plan”.
Building and maintaining strong connections and working relationships with community group partners and stakeholders to realize effective developments that contribute to the growth and development of the community.
Acting as a resource and advocate for business and community groups to help organize, promote, secure funding and provide assistance that will advance the objectives of the community strategic plan.
Providing strategic planning and/ or policy development recommendations to the Economic Development Manager based on trend analysis.
